Rough Collie

Aptly named for its long, rough-coated fur, the Rough Collie was originally used as a herding dog in the fields of Scotland. While their exact origins are somewhat unclear due to a lack of early written records, it's believed that their ancestors were brought to the region by the Romans roughly 2,000 years ago. Written records beginning in the 1800s show that Rough Collies worked in the harsh Scottish Highlands for hundreds of years before becoming a popular choice of dog among wealthy nobility, thanks in part to Queen Victoria's appreciation of the breed. Gifted with grace, agility, and off-the-charts intelligence, the Rough Collie is still renowned for its skills on the farm and in the canine sports arena. Their coats can be found in multiple colours including black, white, tan, and brown.
