Russian Toy Terrier
The Russian Toy Terrier is a spunky little breed with a lively, outgoing personality. Seldom found far from their owner's side, they are highly affectionate and their favorite place is usually in someone's lap. A descendent of the English Toy Terrier, the Russian Toy was originally bred as a companion dog and was quite popular among Russian aristocracy. The breed initially sported a short, smooth coat but in the 1900s a long-coated variety came into existence as well. The long-coated variety shares the same coat colors and patterns as their short-coated counterparts, but has longer fur around the ears, tail and back of the legs. Both varieties highly resemble the Chihuahua.
