Miniature Poodle

Moving with a light, effortless gait and a pep in its step, the miniature poodle is a graceful, athletic breed with a lean, muscular body and a curly, hypoallergenic coat. While the poodle is the national dog of France, their lineage can actually be traced back to 17th Century Germany, where they were derived from various course-coated water retrieving breeds. One of three sizes of poodles, the miniature poodle sits between its larger and smaller counterparts, the standard and toy varieties, in both its size and temperament. While their ancestry may be rooted in rugged working and water-retrieving breeds, the miniature poodle was quickly recognized for its elegance and show dog abilities and soon after became the breed of choice among French aristocracy thanks to its sophistication, convenient size, and easy trainability.
