Caucasian Ovcharka

The Caucasian Ovcharka, also known as the Caucasian Sheepdog, Caucasian Shepherd, and Kaukasiche Schaferhund, is a massive working guardian breed hailing from the Caucasus Mountains bordering Europe and Asia. Believed to be a descendant of the Tibetan Mastiff and Anatolian Shepherd, the Caucasian Ovcharka is thought to be over 2,000 years old. Bold and courageous enough to defend flocks from wolves and coyotes yet calm and friendly enough to be a loyal companion, the Caucasian Ovcharka is a versatile, adaptable breed to say the least.
