Koolie

Originating in Australia during the early 1800s, the Koolie is a working dog by all definitions. Believed to be the descendant of dingoes and working farm dogs imported from Britain, the Koolie is known for its speed and endurance out in the fields. They are dedicated workers and natural athletes, yet also gentle and affectionate with their people. In fact, they are favoured by farmers during lamb-birthing and wool-collecting seasons because they can be relied upon to watch over livestock in a gentle, yet effective manner. Often mistaken for other "Aussie breeds" such as the Australian Shepherd and Cattle Dog due to their similar appearances, the Koolie sports a short to medium-length coat that can be found in a wide variety of colours and markings.
