Jindo

Hailing from the island of Jindo off the coast of South Korea, the Korean Jindo Dog is a medium-sized sporting breed known for its unwavering loyalty. The breed is considered a national treasure in its homeland, with many legends telling of its bravery and tenacity in the face of danger. They were originally free-roaming dogs who were later domesticated by humans to help with guarding property and hunting all manner of game. Considered a "natural breed" the Korean Jindo developed over time with minimal interference from humans. In typical Spitz fashion, they sport a trademark curled tail, pointed ears, wedge-shaped head, and thick double-coat that can be found in shades of fawn, red, black, tan, brindle, and grey.
