Samoyed

Originating in Siberia, The Samoyed is a medium to large-sized working breed known for its fluffy white coat and social personality. Bred to work in the brutally harsh conditions of Siberia, the Samoyed is named for the Samoyede tribespeople whom they worked and lived alongside for centuries. These hardy dogs were put to work as herders, guard dogs, hunters, and sled-pullers. They were even used as dedicated cuddlers due to their thick, well-insulated coats and affectionate natures, a task they still do well today. "Sammies" as they are affectionately known, make wonderful family pets and companions for active, attentive households.
