Pharaoh Hound

An undeniably attractive dog, the Pharaoh Hound is an ancient breed well known for its agility, speed, and grace. A medium to large-sized sighthound, the Pharaoh Hound hails from Egypt and has a smooth, glossy coat of red, tan, or chestnut covering its lean, well-muscled body. Believed to be one of the oldest breeds in history, depictions of the noble Pharaoh Hound can be seen in artwork, temples, and tombs dating as far back as 4400 B.C. Incredibly, this primitive breed has remained virtually unchanged over time and still shares a striking resemblance to its ancient ancestors.
