Bernese Mountain Dog

The Bernese Mountain Dog is faithful, loyal and affectionate. Originating in Switzerland, they are one of four Swiss mountain dog varieties and stand out thanks to their long, silky coats. Not only were they used to herd and guard livestock, but they were also kept as loyal companions. They have a delightful temperament and are friendly and gentle. They are devoted to their owners, friendly to strangers and require lots of human attention. They may suffer from separation anxiety, which may lead them to destructive behaviour when left alone.
