Landseer
Hailing from the Newfoundland and Labrador region of Canada, the Landseer is a rather large breed thought to contain a mix of the long-haired St. Bernard, Great Pyrenees, and English Mastiff. While their exact origins are unknown, it is believed the breed was initially used to help fishermen haul in heavy nets. With a thick water-repellent coat, webbed feet, and a powerful build, the Landseer is an expert swimmer and can work in the harshest and coldest of conditions. In fact, the breed is often employed in search & rescue due to their swimming and scenting skills, physical strength, intelligence, and trainability.
