Beagle

Originally bred as a scent hound, the Beagle was used to track small animals such as hares and rabbits. The most important feature of a Beagle is its nose. With approximately 220 million scent receptors, their heads are always low to the ground in search of a scent to track. They have a tendency to follow their noses and wander off if left unleashed. The Beagle is a joyful explorer, nose to the ground and heart wide open. Curious, sociable, and full of bounce, they bring energy and warmth to every room they enter. Their loyalty is strong, though their independence means they sometimes follow scent over command.
