Schnauzer
Originating in Germany during the 1400s, the Schnauzer is a proud, diligent breed with a long history of working alongside people. Commonly used as ratters, guard dogs, farm dogs, and to help haul goods, the Schnauzer is a hard worker who seldom backs down from a challenge. They are known to bond fiercely with their people and act as both their protectors and playmates. They are quite watchful and attentive as well as brave and hardy. Aptly named for their distinctive mustaches and facial hair, "Schnauzer" roughly translates to "muzzle" in German. Their wiry coats shed so minimally that they are considered and a wonderful choice for owners with allergies.
