Italian Greyhound

Originating in the Mediterranean around 2,000 years ago, the Italian Greyhound is the smallest of all sighthound breeds. They were initially bred to chase and hunt small game, sometimes reaching speeds of 25 miles per hour! They will chase anything that moves and will not be easy to catch if loose. But, because of their high energy and love of exercise, they make great jogging, hiking, and biking partners. They are truly loving, sensitive dogs who tend to bond strongly with one person or one family and can seldom be found far from their owner's side, unless their racing around the yard, of course!
