Dalmatian

Believed to have originated in present-day Croatia (formerly known as Damnatia) Dalmatians were originally used as guard dogs, ratters, retrievers, and even dogs of war, and are known for their alert temperaments and strong work ethic. This rather old breed has a lineage dating back to the early 1600s. Built for both companionship and work, Dalmatians have a sleek build and a confident gait. They are known for their uncanny ability to work alongside horses while other breeds are often intimidated.
