Peruvian Hairless

The Peruvian hairless, also known as the Peruvian Inca Orchid dog or Flower Dog, is incredibly rare and sports some rather unique attributes. While they share some resemblance to other hairless dogs, it's safe to say the Peruvian Hairless is a breed all its own! Ranging in size from small to large, they are typically found without hair but may have thin tufts distributed throughout their bodies on the rare occasion. This noble breed has a long-standing history of prominence in ancient Incan, Chimu, and Chancay societies, with depictions of them on pottery and other artwork dating back to 750 A.D. Like the mighty Xoloitzcuintli that was so highly revered by the ancient Aztecs, the Peruvian Hairless was not only a beloved companion but was believed to possess special healing properties.
