Dogo Argentino
Aptly named for their place of origin, the Dogo Argentino originated in Argentina during the late 1920s when a man by the name of Dr. Antonio Martinez sought to create the ideal hunting dog and loyal companion. To achieve this goal, Martinez used a combination of mastiffs, bull terriers, boxers, and the now-extinct Cordoba Fighting Dog to create the powerful, well-muscled Dogo Argentino we know and love today. Initially used to hunt large game such as puma and wild boar, the Dogo Argentino has stamina, endurance, and courage for days. They are easily recognized by their all-white coats and sturdy, muscular build.
