Wirehaired Pointing Griffon

The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, also known as the Korthals Griffon, is a medium-sized breed with rather unique facial. A skilled hunter both in and out of the water, the Wirehaired Pointed Griffon was originally bred to hunt all manner of game and has a reputation as a superb gundog breed. From flushing game out of dens and retrieving waterfowl to hunting hares and even birds, the Wirehaired Pointed Griffon can do it all. While we know they originated in the Netherlands, their exact ancestry is somewhat unclear. It's believed they contain a mix of various Spaniel, Pointer, and Setter breeds.
